Tip: Spring Cleaning Checklist
When we embark upon our spring cleaning, we do so to welcome the season with a fresh start. This means giving the house a good, all over cleaning. Your spring cleaning checklist should include windows, floors, closets, cabinets and dusting. In addition, you shouldn’t forget to organize the basement, garage and tool shed. Patrol the grounds for garbage and other debris. Spring Cleaning does seem like a lot of work, but once you see how clean and fresh your home looks, you’ll be happy you started– amd completed– this project.
Tip: Spring Cleaning Checklist
If the carpets are on your spring cleaning checklist, you’ll want to tacklet the area rugs as well. Check the care label first, if the rugs are machine washable, by all means, save time and put them in the wash. If not, you have other options. First give the rug a good vacuuming to remove hair and small debris. If all the rug needs is a spot cleaning, do so with vinegar, dishwashing liquid or a commerical spot cleaner. If it needs an all over cleaning, hang it on an outside clothesline and give it a good hosing down. A mild detergent (Laundry or dishwashing) can be used if scrubbing is needed. After the rug is rinsed clean, leave it on the line to dry in the sun.
Tip: Spring Cleaning Checklist
One of the least desireable spring cleaning is washing the windows. We all like our windows to sparkle, we’re just not interested in standing on ladders or hanging outside to scrub away winter dirt. Here’s a spring cleaning tip: To get your windows to really shine, mix a solution of half vinegar and half water and pour into a spray bottle. This should remove the grit and grime from your windows with little effort. To minimize lint, wipe clean with newspaper, coffee filters or a cloth diaper.
Tip: Cleaning Pet’s Bed
Is your pet bed among the items to contend with on your spring cleaning checklist? If not it should be. If not maintained, the pet bed will not only pick up pet odors and accumulate hair, but it will look dull and dingy. A good spring cleaning tip is to not overlook the ped bedding. If the bed has a removable cover you can simply remove it and put it in the washing machine. Running it through the dryer with a fabric sheet should remove any stray hair. If the cover can’t be removed, there’s no reason why your pet bed shouldn’t still be spring fresh. Spot clean using vinegar or a professional product such as PAWS — Pet Accident Washup Soution. When the bed is dry, sprinkle it with baking soda, leave overnight, and vacuum clean in the morning.
